FAQ

How long does Microblading last?

The effects of Microblading last anywhere between 18 months to 3 years, this can depend on skin type, lifestyle and aftercare.
Ombré & Powder brows can last anywhere from 2 to 5 years.
Once the pigment from the procedure begins to noticeably fade, you can go back for a top-up application. We advise having a top –up every 18 months to maintain the desired results, although this is not compulsory.
Does microblading hurt?

Although the procedure can take up to 2 hours to complete, most people report only feeling minor discomfort and the pain is far less than a typical tattoo due to the use of numbing cream.

How long does Microblading take to heal?

In general, during the first 10 to 14 days, your eyebrows will vary in appearance. The colour, definition, and texture will change almost every day.
You’ll also experience different sensations in your skin. At first, your face will feel tender, tight, and painful. This will turn into itchiness and flaking, which eventually subsides.

Days 1 to 3: Eyebrows look fuller, though your face may feel cut and tender.
Immediately after your treatment, your eyebrows will look very bold and full. The colour may look extremely dark, but bear in mind that it will eventually fade.

You’ll likely experience the following during the first few days:
-
redness
-
tenderness
-
mild swelling
-
mild bleeding
-
sensation of feeling cut or bruised
By days 2 and 3, these side effects should slowly subside.
Days 3 to 5: Eyebrows will look very dark, and may start to flake off.
By day 5, your brows will begin to scab. They will be flaky and extremely itchy. This is normal and means your skin is healing.
It is important during this phase of healing to keep your eyebrows moisturised (using the aftercare cream provided on your appointment).
Days 5 to 8: Flaking continues and the colour fades.
Resist the temptation to pick the scabs, this can reopen the wounds and disrupt the healing process. Also, picking the scabs may also remove some pigment, resulting in patchy brows. Let the scabs flake off naturally instead.
As your brows continue to flake, the dark colour will soften. But rest assured that the colour will come back.
Days 8 to 12: Flaking ends and colour returns.
Days 12 to 21: Colour and texture look more natural.
The colour of your eyebrows should look more even and natural. The individual brow hairs will also look more defined, creating the appearance of feathery eyebrows.
Days 21 to 30: Skin is healed.
After 1 month, your skin will be completely healed. You shouldn’t feel any pain or discomfort. Your eyebrows should also look soft and full.
Once your eyebrows are fully healed, you can request a touch – up appointment if needed. This allows the Microblading artist to check how your skin has healed, as well as fix any spots.
What is the difference between Microblading vs. Ombré Brows?

-
Ombré (Powdered) Brows is the newest shading technique. It is 100% customisable and is great for anyone who wants a soft and natural look. This method creates pixilated dots to mimic powder filled brows with no harsh front or outline. This shadow technique is minimally invasive, lasts longer and can be buildable from light to dark.
-
Microblading is creating 3D hair like strokes using fine needles. This method is suitable for people who have some existing hair to blend with the created strokes. Great for those who have darker hair and want more volume.
Post Treatment Care – how to look after my new Microbladed/ Ombré brows?

-
Avoid getting your eyebrows wet for the first 7 days. If you do, gently pat them dry with a clean tissue immediately.
-
Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors. (This may cause scarring and poor retention)
-
Avoid all unsanitary environments for the first 7 days.
-
Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of colour.
-
No facials, Botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.
-
Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week.
-
Minimize shower time and water temperature and avoid long, hot showers for the first 7 days. (No steamy showers this will cause poor retention)
-
Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 7 days.
-
Avoid swimming, saunas and hot tubs until your eyebrows are fully healed and free of flakes/scabs.
-
Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the treated area until they are fully healed.
-
DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch the treated area.
-
DO NOT pencil in the areas that are spotty during the healing time (This is crucial if you want detailed and optimal results.)
